This lovely little console table is perfect for your hallway at a slender 295mm deep and 1150mm long. The live edge Sycamore top features spalting and fiddle back figure.
The Sycamore for this table top features wonderful character including fiddle back, waves in the grain caused bu stress in the tree around a crotch and spalting, a natural blue and balck colouration due to competing funghi (now dead!) in the wood. It leant itself naturally to becoming a narrow table top ideal for a hallway. The legs were reclaimed from theatre scenery and are of Ash. design is very simple and traditionally constructed to show off the beauty of the main timber.
The tree that gave us this timber grew in the back garden of a pub that needed to have it felled to make way for an extension. The owners loved the tree and felt bad about having it removed but a little better by donating it to us so that we could use it to reduce the use of virgin timber and help fund tree planting. It grew outside the little village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire.
The table top is 1150mm long x 295mm wide and the table is 935mm tall. The legs are set forward to allow for a skirting boardup to 20mm deep and still sit flush to the wall.
