The Piece

This table top is as simple as I could make it.  The chunky ash slab has been stripped of bark, seasoned, kiln dried and then levelled.  I have strengthened the smaller section by ‘stitching’ it to the main body with Iroko stitched.  They are not butterfly or bow tie shaped as there is no tension pulling this section away from the main body so they are just stabilising the overall form.

The slab would work well as a number of different types of table, a low table in front of a sofa, a higher side table, or a console table.  The ‘with frame’ price is for a H-frame table in a complimentary wood, you just need to let me know what height you would like.  I would be happy to discuss more complex options if you prefer something more elaborate.

The Wood

The Ash slab came from a tree overlooking the Misbourne Valley in Little Missenden.  It was felled by high winds and the farmer was loath to see it go to waste.  The Iroko was reclaimed from changing room benches from Llangurig Junior school when it closed.

The Size

The slab is 1320mm long x 430mm wide x 50mm thick.

Delivery is free to mainland UK.  If you are lucky enough to live somewhere more remote please contact us for a quote. If you would like a custom frame delivery will be within four weeks of ordering.
