Description

The Piece

We can all use a bit of extra storage.  This piece provides just that with room to store three rows of cans or jars or…   …other stuff.  It is made from chunky 1″ thick, solid Walnut and the waney edge flows around the piece in a satisfying tactile set of curves highlighting the lighter sapwood and deep dark heartwood.  The centre shelf is supported between two housed dado joints and the top is secured by a pair of hand cut dovetails. It’s a lovely solid piece that is as practical as it is beautiful.

The Wood

This beautiful piece of Walnut (Juglans Regia) was felled to make way for a home extension in Meadle, Buckinghamshire and very kindly donated to us.  We have milled, seasoned and kiln dried it before making this beautiful piece of furniture.
