The Piece

It is not surprising that Walnut is so popular for high end furniture.  The colour and grain patterns are quite beautiful.  Using the whole width of the tree means that this piece can show off both the the dark heartwood and the contrasting lighter sapwood.  It has been seasoned for around five years, then kiln dried and simply levelled and finished with a natural hard wax.  It doesn’t need any more help to look wonderful.

It would make a fabulous low table in front of a sofa, occasional table or even something taller so I am leaving it up to you. Just let me know what height you would like and I’ll do the rest.  The ‘with a frame’ price would be for a simple H Frame in a complementary wood but if you would like something more elaborate just get in touch

The Wood

The tree that gave us this timber grew in the back garden of a very nice gentlemen who needed to have it felled to make way for an extension.  He loved the tree and felt bad about having it removed but a little better by donating it to us so that we could use it to reduce the use of wasted timber and help fund tree planting.  It grew outside the little village of Owlswick in Buckinghamshire.

The Size

The table top is 1020mm long x 660 mm wide x 45mm thick.
